Let's take a closer look at the TechEditor user interface.
The main window of TechEditor consists of the following elements:
Here
1 — tool tape;
2 — document tree;
3 — workspace (for working with the report and other document blocks)
4 — list of messages.
Tool tape
All the main commands for managing the program and working with a document are placed on the toolbar.
Document tree
Documents created in TechEditor can contain a text part (Reports), diagrams, special add-ins for automating calculations and content management (Applications), etc. This structure is displayed in the Document Tree.
Workspace
The workspace occupies the main part of the window. Basically, it serves to work with reports, but can also be used to work with charts, applications and other objects in the document.
Message list
While working with a document, the user can receive various messages from the program. For example, these can be error messages in running applications. Such notifications are displayed in a special list at the bottom of the application window.
You can also use the list of messages for your own purposes (for example, to display some calculated, statistical information).
The elements of the TechEditor user interface are discussed in more detail in the following sections of the Guide.
